Water & Wastewater

Our Water & Wastewater Offering

We have the experience and expertise to deliver all types of water and wastewater projects and have successfully completed watermain and sewer installation and upgrades for 25 years. We have a particular expertise in medium to large scale water and wastewater infrastructure, where detailed project management and systems are required to meet the specific challenges of installing large diameter pipelines, often in live road environments and constructing, reservoirs, pumping stations and treatment plants

Quality Management

Dealing with potable water and live sewerage demands excellence in the design and implementation of quality control and assurance measures. Our systems are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited and are adapted on a site specific basis to suit the particular needs of the project.

Subcontractor Management

Larger scale water & wastewater projects inevitably lead to a requirement for specialist subcontractors. We have detailed procedures for the appointment and management of specialists, notably MEICA, Tunnelling & Design, and only appoint those who we fully trust have the experience to carry out the works. .

Health & Safety

Major water and wastewater projects have substantial and varied Health & Safety challenges including working at heights of up to 40m, depths of up to 10m, tunnelling under motorways, railways, rivers and on live roads. We have designed and implemented in-house Health & Safety solutions to meet all of these challenges.

Sillogue Water Storage Facility

The landmark project of Dublin City Council North Fringe Water Supply Scheme, consisted of a 40m high, 5ML capacity water tower, a 30ML capacity reinforced concrete reservoir (constructed in situ), a high lift 100kw pumping station and included 2km of 800mm diameter pipelines, overflow attenuation lagoon, access roads and maintenance facilities.  The project was awarded the 2007 Irish Concrete Society Award for Best Infrastructure Project, and subsequently highly commended at the 2008 European Concrete Newtorks Awards.

"From the initial design and engineering chanllenges - met by McCarthy Hyder Consultants and Michael Collins Architects - to the high quality finish achieved by John Cradock Ltd, the Sillogue Water Tower has been a feat of engineering, architectural and construction excellence."
