Our staff are the core of our business and the key ingredient in making John Cradock Ltd the successful company that it is. We invest heavily in developing our staff, across all grades and have built an experienced, qualified, committed and client focused team, giving us the capability to successfully deliver all projects that we undertake. Our core management team members are;

Victor Smyth

Managing Director

Victor has a degree in Civil Engineering, awarded by QUB, in 1993. He joined JCL in 1995 and was appointed a Director in 2001. He completed a post graduate Diploma in Project Management in Trinity College in 2015 and is also a Chartered Engineer. He was appointed Managing Director in 2024.

Richard Miller

Estimating Director

Richard has a degree in Construction Management (H&S), awarded by University of Glamorgan in 2000. He joined JCL as an Estimator in 2002. He has full responsibility for the Estimating Department within JCL. He was appointed a Director in 2011.

Alan Wright

Contracts Director

Alan has a degree in Civil Engineering, awarded by IT Sligo in 2000. He has substantial experience in major civil projects before joining JCL in 2010 progressing to Contracts Director in 2013. He has completed CIF/IOSH Managing Safely in Construction, and manages several projects at a time

Paul Bagnall

Director

Paul joined John Cradock Ltd in 1995 as a Section Foreman, progressing to Site Foreman in 1998. His remit was expanded to include all plant procurement and management. He has a major role in labour and plant resourcing on all of our projects. He was appointed a Director in 2013

Barry Desmond

Finance Director

Barry has a degree in Quantity Surveying, awarded by DIT in 1985 and subsequently completed a post graduate Diploma in Project Management. He joined JCL as Senior Quantity Surveyor in 2002. He manages the commercial aspect of all of our projects and was a appointed a Director in 2014

Dylan Broderick

Quality & Submissions Manager

Dylan has a degree in Civil Engineering, awarded by University College Cork, in 2000. He joined JCL in 2003 as a Site Agent, progressing to Quality Manager in 2010. He has a Diploma in Business Process Management and oversees the implementation of our Quality Management system as well as overseeing all technical submissions.

Sinéad Shinkins

Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

Sinéad has a degree in Civil Engineering awarded by NUI Galway, in 2004. She joined JCL as a Site Engineer in 2004 progressing to EHS Manager in 2012. She has a Masters Degree in Environmental Health & Safety and manages the implementation of our EHS systems on site

Cynthia Meredith

Office Manager

Cynthia Meredith joined JCL in 2000 as an Office Administrator and was appointed Office Manager in 2014. She has responsibility for our accounts system, and manages an administration team who carry out all the key support functions, working closely with the Commercial and Managing Directors
