Kilcullen Road Cycleway Update

John Cradock Ltd. on behalf of Kildare County Council will be carrying out major upgrade works to the Kilcullen Road (R448) as part of the Kilcullen Road Cycle Scheme.

The works include the installation of services, construction of off-road cycleway and footways and the overlay of the existing road along with significant urban regeneration at Swans Cross. John Cradock Ltd. wish to inform you that a one-way system is required along the Kilcullen Road (R448) from the Kilcullen Roundabout to the junction with Patrician Avenue to facilitate these works. The one-way system will come into effect from 8am Monday 13th February 2023 and shall be in place until 21st August 2023. The traffic management plan is summarised below and presented in the plans overleaf:

  •  Inbound traffic from Kilcullen Road Roundabout along the R448 will remain uninterrupted during this phase of works.
  •  Outbound traffic from Naas to the Kilcullen Road Roundabout will follow the diversion route along the Ballymore Road.
  •  Two-way local access will be facilitated to the Rathasker heights during the initial phase of the works. 
  • Pedestrian movement shall be curtailed to one available footpath through the works area for the works duration however safe and appropriate access shall be maintained at all times.
