This scheme, was delivered in 2024 tfor Kildare County Council and provides significantly enhanced pedestrian and cycling infrastructure to the south of the town centre, connecting to a previous infrastructure upgrade that HCL completed on the outer Kilcullen Road in 2015

Key Features

• 1km of road realignment of the R448 from the centre of town to the South Ring Road.
• Segregated cycle lanes and footpaths were installed on both sides of the road for the full length of the scheme.
• Significant drainage network upgrade was installed to faciliate the new road layout.
• New public lighting and traffic signals infrastructure were delivered.
• Feature hard landscaping public realm area was created at the the town centre with the works faciliated by a complete junction reconfiguration. 
• All works were completed in live pedestrian and vehicular traffic and required extensive engagement witth the local commercial and residential commuities.
