Castleknock Quality Bus Corridor

Client: Fingal County Council

Commencement Date: June 2010

Projected Completion Date: February 2011

Description: This project consists of the construction of 5km of new bus lanes and upgrade of all utilities over the entire length of the project.

Residents & Commuters - Update

N.B

Commencing on Monday the 30th of August JCL will carry out nightime works between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 (Mon-Fri) for the upgrading of Traffic signals at the following junctions :

Castleknock Rd/ Castleknock Gate Junction         30/08/10 to 02/09/10

Castleknock Rd/ Auburn Rd Junction                   02/09/10 to 07/09/10

Castleknock rd/College Rd Junction                    07/09/10 to 10/09/10

Castleknock Rd/ Hawthorn Rd Junction               10/09/10 to 16/09/10

Castleknock Rd/ Beechpark Junction                   16/09/10 to 21/09/10

Castleknock Rd/ Park Lodge Junction                  21/09/10 to 24/09/10

30th August - 5th September 2010

The following areas will be affected by the works for the coming week;

  • Works will continue between Castleknock Gate and Ashtown Gate on the Phoenix Park Wall side, traffic lights will be in operation between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00 to carry out some sections of the works. Maintaining Two way traffic shall be a priority during the works.  This footpath will be closed to pedestrian access for the duration of the works.
  • Works will continue between the entrance to Deerpark and Fawn Lodge apartments, Pedestrians from deerpark will be required to use a temporary footpath provided by JCL. JCL shall provide access to a temporary bus stop located at the existing Bus Shelter. Temporary Traffic Signals will be in operation throughout the week between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00 at the Castleknock Gate junction. The pedestrian crossing at Fawn Lodge will be an uncontrolled crossing when the temporary lights are in operation. Footpaths will be constructed in front of the entrance to Fawn Lodge apartments which will require JCL to close off half of the entrance to construct the footpath and switch the traffic to Fawn onto the newly constructed footpath to carry out the remainder of the works
  • Works will be carried out at the pedestrian entrance to the Phoenix Park to accommodate works required for upgrading of Traffic Signals. Pedestrians will be diverted safely around the works during the week
  • Works will commence at the junction of Auburn avenue Thursday the 2nd of September. To accommodate these works JCL will divert pedestrians via a temporary footpath where pedestrian traffic will be affected.

Donabate July 1

Donabate Station Redevelopment

Description: This project consists of the complete redevelopment of the train station in Donabate,Co. Dublin. Both platforms are to be reconstructed, the entire station building will be redeveloepd and new lift shafts and a new footbridge will be installed

Newbridge Car Park Finished

Newbridge Station Car Park

Client: Iarnrod Eireann

Value: €1,500,000

Commencement: November 2009

Projected Completion: May 2010

Description: This project involves the construction of an entirely new car park for Newbridge Train Station. There are substantial quantities of earthworks, ducting, drainage and surfacing required as part of the contract. Remedial works are also required in the existing car park.

While on site JCL have been awarded additional works by Kildare County Council to update the junction and access into the car park  

Vicarstown Bridge 1 July

Ballymanus & Vicarstown Bridge Repairs

Client: Waterways Ireland

Value: €100,000

Commencement: June 2010

Projected Completion: July 2010

Description: This project consists of the repair to two masonry arch bridges over rivers in Co. Laois. The works require installation of scaffolding in the river bed, strengthening of the bridge decks and replacement and repair to existing masonry
