Water and Waste Water

John Cradock Ltd has undertaken a number of large scale water and wastewater projects in recent years. These have included high profile projects, such as Limerick Main Drainage, and projects in extremely challenging locations such as N2 Branch Sewer & Pumping Station.

We have significant pipelaying experieince and an expertise in concrete structure construction, such as Reservoirs, Pumping Stations, etc

The high quality of work which JCL produces was acknowledged in 2007 by the awarding of the Irish Concrete Society Award to Sillogue Water Storage Facility, which included a 40m high Water Tower adjacent to the M50 in Dublin. 

Roads & Bridges

When JCL was initially established it concentrated on bridge construction. Whilst we have expanded significantly since then we have continued to win contracts to construct and refurbish bridges all over the country. Major projects include Drinan Interchange over the M1 Motorway, Shaw Bridge in Kilcock and Hopes Bridge in Portarlington.

We have constructed numerous Railway bridges over some of the busiest railway lines in the country and also constructed a number of bridges over rivers, canals and streams.

We have also carried out several roads projects including Blarney Relief Rd, Togher Link Rd and Abbeyfeale Traffic Calming

Railway

Iarnrod Eireann are one of JCL's key clients. We have completed numerous contracts of verying sizes for IE in recent years. JCL are also on a number of Iarnrod Eireann Framework Agreements, including Car Parks, Platforms, Accessibility.

JCL have completed two large railway projects as part of Joint Ventures (Kildare Route Project Contract 2 and Midelton-Glounthaune Line). We have also completed numerous platforms (for example Mullingar, Kishogue, Mosney, Rush & Lusk), car parks (for example Portarlington, Carlow, Portmarnock and Mallow) along with several level crossing replacements with bridges at Tullamore, Athlone and an underpass in Roscommon being prime examples of these projects.

All staff have worked on Iarnrod Eireaan projects and all have the IE specific PTS safety training

Urban Renewal

In recent years JCL have concentrated significant resources on urban renewal projects, particularly in Munster. These are highly specialised projects, which require detailed planning with affected parties and suppliers and subcontractors, and in the main take place in busy urban areas.

We initially carried out the pedestrianisation of the main square in Tralee, which was a huge success and have subsequently have completed a number of these projects in Limerick city with the four projects having a total value in excess of €10m.

Skate Parks

In the past number of years JCL has developed an expertise in the design and construction of skatepark facilities. All of these projects are of concrete construction. We have carried out four of these projects, which require substantial skill and know-how in order to achieve the required concrete finish.

The works also require unique finishing tools to be procured for each specific project. JCL have taken the roles of designer, contractor and PSCS for these projects.

Buildings

We have constructed numerous building projects, both residential and commericial. These projects require expert management due to the large number of specialist subcontractors used.

Our experience varies from traditional housing (Belgard and Mullingar Halting Sites), to commericial units (Glanbia in Castlecomer and JCL Head Offices in Kilcullen) to a number of new train stations we have built for Iarnrod Eireann.

We ensure high quality finishes by using experienced subcontractors who have come through teh JCL subcontractor process.
